The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T was released 2 years ago, and Asus has basically stopped the updates for the latest versions of Android. The latest version was Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Google always releases newer versions of Android every six months, but our poor tablet was left behind.

Android 4.4 KitKat never made it to the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T, so it seems that Android 5.0 Lollipop will not make it either. The specs for our tablet are more than capable to run Lollipop. The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T packs 1 GB ram, and a Quad Core Processor this is more than robust enough to handle Lollipop.
Along with the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T other devices share the same problem as other Android devices, The manufacturers load the OS with bloat which also delays the Android upgrades. Well thanks to a developer called
Timduru on XDA we now have Android Lollipop on our beloved Asus Transformer Pad TF300T.
Timduru made an effort to build Android Lollipop 5.0 for this tablet and is making huge strides. I have installed this on my Asus Transformer Pad TF300T and I must say this seems like it was made to rum on my tablet! Although the rom is far from a daily driver, It is one of the most stable roms in Beta that I have ever seen. Most things are working on the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T, the only thing that aren’t are the camera, Bluetooth, and Accelerometer.

These things don’t bother me at all, and development is moving pretty fast so it won’t be long until we have a fully functional Android 5.0 running on our Asus Transformer Pad TF300T. There is no reason not to install this on our tablet! I have installed it and it was fast and smooth as butter. The interface is beautiful and very responsive. It seems that Lollipop was made for the Asus tablet. Installation was straightforward, you do have to install the latest version of TWRP recovery 2.8 + and then download the rom and Gapps. At first there was a problem with Google play not playing nice but it was quickly resolved by formatting data first then installing everything. This took I swear 1 hour for the data wipe but it was necessary.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T took awhile to fully boot to the setup screen but this is to be expected. After the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T booted to the initial setup screen I was immediately in love with the interface. When completed and in the OS I played around and explored the OS fully. The interface is totally revamped, every nook and cranny was beautiful. The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T was flying through the menus and the transitions were fast. Be aware that this is not a beginner adventure; there are many ways to brick your device. That being said To me it was worth it, and I have been patiently waiting to get this on here. So if yu have a Asus Transformer Pad TF300T head on down to XDA and give this a shot. You won’t regret it.
