Computer problems can be super frustrating. Even if your computer is under warranty it can seem like the manufacturer is only interested in selling you something else like an extended service plan etc... We technicians have been in the computer repair business for 20+ years and we know what your going through as we have had to repair our own from time to time. The answers to problems are not always simple and sometimes a simple issue can require multiple troubleshooting techniques to resolve. I for one appreciate a small form factor desktop. Intel has a new product called "Compute Stick", this takes the mini desktop concept as far as it can go. At 150 dollars with Windows 8.1 and 110 dollars for Ubuntu this stick isn't really a desktop in a traditional sense, it hangs off the back of your monitor instead of sitting on your desk. It sure seems like once every few years Microsoft has a flop operating system and then a really good one. While I do like Windows 8.1, the majority of PC users are not super impressed with its UI and functionality.
